What is NJCPR’s goal in NJ?

Our goal is to be able to provide resources to everyone in the communities that we serve such as education, financial resources, and affordable housing.

Does NJCPR plan on offering any other program or services in the future?

Yes. NJCPR has plans to offer many more services in the future including credit counseling.

How long does it take to donate a house?

If all papers are in order, and the title is clear of any issues, the process typically takes between 3-6 weeks.

My house is part of association. Will you deal with board to approve the transfer?

Yes, NewJerseyCPR can work with the board to facilitate the transfer.

Will you accept a house that has a lien or mortgage?

Sometimes. Every house needs to be evaluated separately. Fill out the form at the top of this page and we will get back to you within 2-3 business days.

What tax benefits will I receive by donating my house to charity?

As a general rule, you can claim the FULL appraised value of the donated home. Consult your tax advisor for details.

Can you take a house that needs repairs or that couldn’t sell?

Yes, we accept home donations that couldn't sell as well as houses in less than ideal condition.

How does New Jersey CPR determine the approval of a house donation?

At New Jersey CPR, our team of specialists review each house donation offer we receive, to ensure that the charity can benefit from the donation. We analyze a variety of different factors to maximize the potential of every property donation.

Will you take a house with a tenant living in it?

Yes we can, though we’ll need info on the tenant to proceed.

What does New Jersey CPR do with the donated home?

New Jersey CPR assesses each property, and based on the condition, location, and other factors, may hold it, or resell to generate profits for our charity.

Will I be charged any fees?

New Jersey CPR will pay all closing and recording fees. In order to receive your tax deduction, you’ll need a current appraisal on the home. According to IRS regulations, tax deduction is based on a current property appraisal. If you already have a current appraisal, you do not need to get another one.

Do I need to be present at closing?

No. We will mail you all the necessary documents for you to sign.
